I hope this message finds you well! Please find below the latest announcements and updates on our learning activities for the last couple of weeks:
π Announcements:
π Homework Due Tuesday, February 11th:
π Health: Create your own lunch menu considering healthy food groups. Write 4-5 sentences about your meal choices. Are your choices better than your usual ones? Bring your lunch to school and show Madame on Tuesday, February 11.
π French: Write four sentences about your weekend and practice reading your work. You will present it in class on Tuesday, February 11.
π English: Continue researching for your biography assignment for Black History Month.

π Report Cards:
Report cards will be distributed on Wednesday, February 5th.
They will be sent to your childβs email address, and you will have two weeks to view and print them.
If you encounter any difficulty accessing the report cards, please do not hesitate to contact the main office for assistance.

Students have completed a mini PowerPoint presentation about a plant of their choice in class.
They researched:
βοΈ What the plant needs to thrive
βοΈ How it is used by humans (for food, medicine, etc.)
βοΈ Interesting facts about the plant
π The presentations will take place on Wednesday, February 12th. Students may log in at home if they wish to practice.
π Math Quiz:
A quiz covering fractions, division, and multiplication will take place on Monday, February 24th.

π Learning Updates:
π«π· French:
We are focusing on oral communication. Each morning, students engage in reading activities and discussions in French to enhance their vocabulary and comprehension. The books we are reading connect to Health topics such as:
βοΈ Mental health
βοΈ Healthy eating habits
βοΈ The importance of balancing screen time
Students are also studying Social Studies in French, expanding their vocabulary with terms like colons (settlers) and peuples autochtones (Indigenous peoples).
π‘ New in class: We will be introducing Duolingo as a fun way to help students practice French interactively!
π©Ί Health:
We are exploring important topics, including:
βοΈ Healthy eating habits
βοΈ The difference between processed and unprocessed foods
βοΈ The impact of local vs. imported foods on health
βοΈ Oral hygiene, mental well-being, and stress management
πΏ Students have participated in mindfulness and breathing exercises to promote a calm and focused mind. They are currently working on an in-class activity that will be assessed and sent home soon.
π Social Studies (French):
Students are learning about:
βοΈ First Nations communities and their way of life before European settlers
βοΈ The arrival and impact of Europeans in North America
βοΈ Connections between past and present societies
They are engaging in discussions and activities to deepen their understanding of historical eventsβall in French!

π Multiplication Tables: Students should continue practicing their multiplication tables (1β12) at home.
π Fractions: We have been working on:

βοΈ Recognizing equivalent fractions (e.g., 2/4 = 1/2)

Students are writing a biography about an influential Black person. Each student has received a name and will continue their research at home.
