The school will provide:
- math manipulatives,
- calculators,
- pencils,
- rough paper,
- rulers,
- and erasers.
Students are also welcome to bring their own supplies if they wish.
Lastly, our Health lessons will take place on Friday, June 5 in the afternoon. Please email me if your child will be exempt and let me know which of the three options you selected on the form sent home last week. You can find more information about the Health unit under Resources.
Learning Update:
This week, students worked very hard on Geometry, Measurement, and Fractions to help prepare for EQAO. We reviewed 3D figures, faces, edges, vertices, prisms, and pyramids, as well as measurement concepts such as length, width, height, perimeter, area, and telling time through practice questions and review activities.
In Language, we focused on prefixes and suffixes and practiced applying these skills through EQAO-style reading and writing activities. Today, after completing our sample EQAO test, students will review how to transform a simple sentence into a more complex sentence by adding adjectives and adverbs, choosing stronger vocabulary, and improving sentence structure to demonstrate stronger writing skills.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement at home!
