Announcements
- Homework is due on Monday, May 11th.
- Science quiz on the plant unit will take place on Tuesday, May 12th (please refer to the study guide under Resources).
- Please return the assessment binder to school if it has not been returned yet.
- Congratulations to our 50-point winners, who have received a mini prize and their certificates.
- Math game winners and French riddle winners also received a prize.
- The EQAO assessment will take place from May 25–28, which is in about 2 weeks.
- The Science sample test was completed today and will be sent home.
Learning Updates
Math
We have started a new unit on fractions, including equivalent fractions. Students are learning to recognize and compare fractions and understand how different fractions can represent the same value.
Language
Students explored identifying the main idea and supporting details in texts. They also worked on letter writing, focusing on structure, organization, and clear communication.
Social Studies (en français)
Students continue to learn about early settlers (les colons), including Samuel de Champlain, John Cabot, and Jacques Cartier, and their contributions to early Canadian history.
Science (en français)
We will begin a new unit after the Science test. More information will be shared next week.
