Learning Updates
Math
Students have begun learning multiplication and division concepts through grouping, sharing, and problem-solving activities. They are using math manipulatives, solving problems in class, practicing EQAO-style questions, and participating in group multiplication games. Please ensure your child reviews multiplication facts from 1–4 and begins learning 5–8 for next week.
Language
Students will begin learning about swim safety through reading comprehension activities. We will also explore different forms of writing, such as letters, emails, narratives, descriptive writing, and simple informational reports (short writing pieces where students present facts about a topic).
Social Studies (en français)
Students are beginning to learn about early settlers (les colons), including Samuel de Champlain, Jean Cabot, and Jacques Cartier, and their contributions to early Canadian history.
Science (en français)
Students are learning about life cycles and food chains, including how living things depend on one another for energy. We will also be learning about natural events, such as floods (inondations) and droughts (sécheresses), and how they affect plants.
Merci,
Mme
