Our junior concert will take place on April 30th. The song lyrics have been sent home by the music teacher, and students are encouraged to review and practice them.
Learning Updates
French
Students completed a reading comprehension activity that was collected and will be assessed. This allows me to see how students understand a French text when working independently. The text was read and translated together for support, but the questions were completed individually. Grades will be sent home soon.
Math
Students have learned how to calculate mean, mode, and median. Please review these concepts at home as we continue preparing for EQAO.
Next week, we will begin learning multiplication and division concepts, along with problem-solving using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Please note: In Grade 3, students are not expected to learn long multiplication or formal division yet. Instead, they learn these ideas through grouping, sharing, and problem-solving.
Language
We are wrapping up our paragraph writing unit. Students are practicing the use of transition words such as first, then, next, finally…. Soon, students will write a paragraph that will be graded to assess their understanding of how to write a clear and well-organized paragraph.
Social Studies
Students are learning about different First Nations communities and their lifestyles, including groups such as the Métis, Inuit, and Anishinaabe, and comparing aspects of their daily life with our own.
Science
We have completed learning about the parts of plants. Students also explored the parts of flowers, pollination, and how pollen is transferred by pollinators such as bees and wind, allowing plants to produce seeds.
Merci,
Mme
