Students have practiced the spelling words twice in class, and they should know both the spelling and meaning of each word. Here are the words they should be familiar with:

  • Clip: A small object used to hold things together, like paper clips.
  • Clap: To strike your hands together to make a sound, usually to show happiness or appreciation.
  • Clog: A type of shoe, or something that blocks or stops up a space, like a sink.
  • Clasp: A device used to fasten things together, like on a necklace or a bag.
  • Cloud: A fluffy mass of water vapor floating in the sky.
  • Clean: When something is free from dirt or mess.
  • Climb: To go up something, like a ladder or a tree.
  • Clunky: Something that is heavy, awkward, or not smooth.
  • Bend: To change the shape of something by making it curve.
  • Fend: To protect yourself from something or keep it away.
  • Vest: A type of clothing worn on the upper body, like a sleeveless shirt or a jacket without sleeves.
  • Tent: A portable shelter made of fabric, used for camping.
  • Spent: When you use up something, like money or energy, or when something is finished.
  • Wreck: To destroy or damage something badly.
  • Reflect: To think carefully about something, or when light bounces off a surface like a mirror.
